Roland Agambire Outshines Rivals At Entrepreneur Awards

The Chief Executive Officer of Rlg Communications Limited, RolandAgambirehas been crowned the Overall Best Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 at the 3rd UT Ghana Entrepreneur Awards Night, held in Accra over the weekend.
He was recognised for his excellent and enormous contributions towards the country’s socio-economic growth and development.
Mr. Agambire, who marked his 39th Birthday recently, was presented with a plaque and decorated.
The annual event, which recognises outstanding achievements of Ghanaian and foreign resident entrepreneurs in Small, Medium and Large-Scale Enterprises (SMLEs), is an initiative of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana. It also serves as a motivation for budding entrepreneurs in the SMLEs in sustaining economic growth and generating employment in the country.
This year’s event was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI), with sponsorship from the UT Bank Ghana Limited.
It was with the theme: ‘Celebrating Entrepreneurship, the Engine of Economic Growth’.
Speaking on behalf of his colleague award winners, Mr. Agambire thanked the organisers for recognising his humble efforts at serving the good people of Ghana and Africa.
He used the occasion to call on Ghanaians to patronise made-in-Ghana goods and services to motivate him and other entrepreneurs to further create more jobs for the teeming unemployed youth in Ghana, and Africa as a whole.
Mr. Agambire, who is also the Executive Chairman of the AGAMS Group of Companies, called for investments into research and development, to enable Ghanaian entrepreneurs build innovative products and brands that could compete on the international platform.
The other 25 award winners include Mr. Saled Fakhry, Chairman of Interplast Ghana Limited, who won the Lifetime Entrepreneurial Achievement; Mr. Brian Maxted, Chief Executive Officer of Kosmos Energy, for Best International Entrepreneur; Mr. Charles Yao Mensah, Executive Chairman of Myroc Group of Companies, for emerging as the Outstanding Entrepreneur Achievement Award, and Mrs. Kate Quartey-Papafio, Chief Executive Officer of Reroy Cables Limited who was adjudged the Best Woman Entrepreneur.
