Ford: Growing the Ford Business in Middle East and Africa

Recording its attendance in almost all the countries, Ford- one of the world’s largest auto makers has formulated its global strategy with selected cars that have recorded utmost sales. Currently, Ford exhibiting its excellent performance in the Indian market has taken the entire consumer market with a big blast innovative car Ford Ecosport. As per sources, the glittering brand is now planning to launch 17 new vehicles in the next 24 months in an endeavor to enhance its growth in regions like Middle East and Africa. The company with the newly created business unit ‘Ford Middle East and Africa’ strategizes to modernize all its operations thereby intensifying its reach in these regions. The regions experiencing a steady growth of 60% in the past four years reflects the main purpose of especially targeting Middle East and Africa. Though other reasons like rejuvenating customer base in Middle East and Africa, introducing innovative cars for customers and assisting Ford’s dealers to best serve customer needs were also taken into consideration for choosing Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Jim Benintende, President, Ford Middle East and Africa stated, “Our intention is to grow the Ford business while staying true to our principles of being active and supportive members of the community in the Middle East and Africa”. Adding to President’s statement, Stephen Odell, President, Ford of Europe, Middle East and Africa said, “The Middle East and Africa is poised to become one of the next big automotive growth markets and we want to be there for these customers with great new cars and trucks. Ford and Lincoln which is a division of Ford Motor Company, sales have grown 60% in the middle East over the past four years, and we expect total industry sales in the combined Middle East and Africa region to increase nearly 40% to around 5.5 million units by 2020.” The 17 new vehicles to be launched in the next 24 months include the new Fusion Sedan and EcoSport compact Sports Utility Vehicle.
