Senegal Stands Strong Against Poaching

Senegal has now decided to hit hard on illegal fishing and joined hands with anti-poaching group, Sea Shepherd. If the group has to be believed, West Africa loses to illegal fishing each year approximately billions of US dollars. The West African region is accounted for nearly 40% of all of the world's poached fish.

Illegal fishing is nowadays turning up to a great business with fishing industrial vessels entering into national waters for tuna, swordfish and sharks and accounts for a big loss to the region. Keeping this in mind, Sea Shepherd has begun a new endeavor to support in monitoring Senegal’s 700 meter long coast to stop poaching. Read More...
