Kenyan Agriculture needs Modern Technology

Kenya possessing agriculture as the key sectors that drive the country’s economy and therefore influence the overall economic performance, is endowed with adequate resources for agricultural growth. The horticulture industry is among the fastest growing agricultural sub-sectors, contributing more than 10 percent of total agricultural production and employing approximately 2.5 million people in 2005.

The leading horticultural product occupies much of this sector is the lucrative flower industry ranking Kenya among the leading world producers of high quality variety flowers and a modern well-structured industry. During the Agritec Africa event organized by Radeecal Communications Ltd., Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries, Mr. Felix K. Koskei asserted in regard to horticulture and agriculture based on improvising the agriculture industry by innovative ideas and technology, “I hope this forum will create meaningful business opportunities and linkages between the people of the India and Kenya and the entire world and in addition encourage appropriate technology transfer and exchange.”  Read More...
