Rwanda to celebrate birth of 18 new mountain gorillas

KIGALI, July. 1 (TOA) – Rwanda is preparing to celebrate the new 18 babies mountain gorillas born on its territory over the past twelve months through mass ceremonies known as "Kwita Izina" (Attribution of name, in national Kinyarwanda language) due for Tuesday at the Volcanoes national park located at around 130 kilometers from the capital city Kigali in the northern of the country, an official source revealed here.

The mountain gorillas living in a dense forest of chimpanzees located at the national park of the volcanoes are so far designated as one of the main tourist attractions with a revenue of 2,800 US dollars per day, according to figures released by the Rwanda Development Board -RDB , a governmental institution in charge of investment promotion in that central African country. Read More...
