A round table discussion on “India- Africa Cooperation: Role of Regional Economic Communities”

On August 21, 2014 Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) organized a round table discussion on “India- Africa Cooperation: Role of Regional Economic Communities” providing a platform for Indians and Delegation Representing REC’s of Africa.  Amb. Rajiv K. Bhatia, Director General, ICWA gave the opening remarks and stated about the long standing ties of the regions. While addressing the delegation and audience, Amb. Bhatia asserted, “India-Africa Cooperation is doing very well and you will hear about it a lot in future.”


Imminent dignitaries present during the event were Mr. Ibrahim Sani, Acting Secretary General, CEN-SAD; Mr. Sidjime Saleh, Director, ECCAS; and Dr. Kipyego Cheluget, Assistant Secretary General (Programme) from respective REC’s presented their views, opinions and accentuated on the efforts being made to strengthen the participation of India in African projects headed by the communities. The enlightening discussion was concluded with hiugh-tea.
