Nigeria to train health professionals from other West African countries on Ebola

Nigeria to train health professionals from other West African countries on EbolaNigeria is set to provide specialized training to 15 healthcare professionals from three West African countries affected by Ebola disease virus disease. This was announced by the nation’s Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu.

The minister said this while hosting the African Union Commissioner for Social Affairs, Mr Mustapha Kaloko, in Abuja. He said the health personnel benefitting from the specialized training are nine field epidemiologists and six laboratory scientists from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

The minister said the training would take place in Nigeria and be for three weeks. The move he said was part of “a broader measure” taken by the Federal Government to assist those countries hit by the virus to contain its spread beyond their borders. Read More....
