NPP Elects Nana Akufo-Addo as its Presidential Candidate for the 2016 Elections in Ghana

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ghana’s main opposition party has on Saturday 18th October, 2014, elected veteran opposition leader Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo as its presidential candidate to lead the party into the 2016 presidential election.

After a sweeping sweet victory in Saturday's presidential primary, Nana Akufo-Addo says he is challenged by the great confidence reposed in him by the party delegates and will do everything humanly possible to bring the New Patriotic Party back to power.

Flanked by the losing candidates Alan Kojo Kyeremanten and Addai Nimoh, the three time- presidential candidate in a victory speech rallied all and sundry within the party to work together for a famous victory in 2016.

Akufo-Addo polled 117,413 of the total ballot cast representing an overwhelming 94.35 per cent the EC Director of elections declared, late Saturday evening.

Alan Kyeremanten managed a paltry 5,908 votes representing 4.75 per cent and the underdog Addai Nimoh remained just that, with a surplus 1,128 votes representing 0.91 per cent. Read More.....
