Tanzania: Our next Commander in Chief, Dr John Pombe Magufuli, (2015-2020)DAR ES SALAAM, 3 November 2015- few days has passed since the announcement of the winner of presidential chair of the United Republic of Tanzania by the retired Judge Damian Lubuva from National Electoral Commission (NEC) -Dr. John Pombe Magufuli won with 58.46% of the total valid votes.  

On his side, Andrea Guzzoni, Country manager of Jovago Tanzania expresses his admiration of the entire electoral process which was undertaken in a peaceful environment.   “A Peaceful environment is essential to the Tanzanian tourism sector, we appreciate the situation and  we have  confidence that the coming government  will bring further progress to promote the GDP growth in various sectors, including the tourism industry from 14% to reach over 20% in the coming years”.  

In addition, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli is good with numbers, he has been interested in issues of numbers, “we expect all members of the sector to be driven to increase the GDP growth, 2015-2020”, Lilian  Kisasa ,Public Relations Manager of JovagoTanzania adds.  

"We believe no employee within the tourism industry will neglect the importance of economic growth, we expect to cooperate and make changes within the tourism industry and increase the national income figures” she clarifies.   Magufuli was born in October 29, 1959 in Chato district which is one of five districts of Geita a new region in northwest Tanzania.

He holds a Phd in Chemistry from University of Dar es Salaam, in that sense he will be the first Scientist-President of Tanzania. He has been a minister in different sectors such as the Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries and the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development. Read More...
