A Visionary in Leadership

A Visionary in LeadershipH.E. Mr. Issoufou Mahamadou, the President of Republic of Niger is a true example of a visionary in leadership. His patriotism and sense of responsibility are undeniable, and quite admirable. He is also deemed to be a man of his word. All those who knew him know that he has never denied a commitment. isionary leaders are the builders of a new dawn, working with imagination, insight, and boldness. They present a challenge that calls forth the best in people and brings them together around a shared sense of purpose.

They work with the power of intentionality and alignment with a higher purpose. There is a profound interconnectedness between the leader and the whole, and true visionary leaders serve the good of the whole. They recognize that there is some truth on both sides of most polarized issues in our society today. They search for solutions that transcend the usual adversarial approaches and address the causal level of problems.   All over the world, and at all times, the dream of all citizens is to be commanded by virtuous leaders.

This legitimate dream of all peoples of the world, Nigeriens turned it into reality at the beginning of 2011. Indeed, after two decades of experimentation - if not alchemy - democratic, dotted with military coups and civil, social unrest of all kinds, marasmus (if not declining) economic freedoms granted sawtooth, insecurity in the north, east and west, more often painful changes of hopes realized, they established their balance sheets, and finally decided to entrust their destiny to women and men who have shown perseverance, courage, loyalty, voluntarism and competence.

All virtues that were not the best things shared by most of those who, for two decades, had the privilege of driving the boat Niger, not safely, but ... the capsizing. In 2011 came the time to establish the list of Republics “Gondwanaises” suspend the count of lost years and lost opportunities, leaving the “A” infamous international media, to join the group of respected countries. Issoufou Mahamadou, since it is him, this is first “tout court” activist who years campus official courtroom through the headquarters of political parties, and consistently defended freedom and determination solidarity for individuals, democracy and good governance for the country, and Pan-Africanism as a counterweight in the world.

This commitment, he has repeatedly shown, particularly by organizing and leading the refusal fronts wherever democracy has been questioned in Niger. But also, weaving out strong relationships with political movements and governments whose experience and friendship will come the precious moment for Niger. Man of principle, Issoufou Mahamadou is also deemed to be a man of his word.

All those who knew him know that he has never denied a commitment. The recent history of Niger, especially in the course of preelection agreements, has shown that it is often, Issoufou, who betrayed him. It has sometimes paid the price expensive, having often missed the presidency because they believed that moral values that are shared by all advocates. But it was not a drama, it is convinced that in any case, a strong consensus is building among the political class. At the time, “the candidate of the NHDP has too often given his confidence, said a political scientist, and it has often been betrayed. But this is better than not to trust.

Whenever there were problems in the end he preferred to draw useful lessons for the future, which further strengthens its position now. Surely, he will play the leading role in the next elections. “It is actually elected on January 31, 2011. Since then, it performs its contract with the Nigerian people, who also knows very well.

Since the Sovereign National Conference of 1991 in fact, her face, her figure and her speaking out, alternating weights and passion, were part of our life, as it was now touring the villages, meeting in urban centers, or meeting with peers to boost the unity of progressive forces. In 2011, so this is a 59 year old man, mature, seasoned, who was brought to power by the Nigeriens, under the banner of the Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism, he co-founded in December 1990, and since then it has regularly renewed his confidence.

And for good reason: despite all the turbulence experienced by the democratic life of Niger, Issoufou Mahamadou has always been able to show his comrades the path of honor and dignity.   Why this party is the only one remained full, and steady progress in electoral contests, thanks to his discipline and seriousness of its activists and leaders. The Vice Chairman of the party of the time Bazoum Mohamed -since he became Chairman recalled, the main assets of the PNDS-Tarayya are “the rare quality of the commitment of its militants on the one hand and the exceptional qualities of the man we brought to her head on the other “.

And indeed, in 20 years of presence on the political spectrum, Issoufou Mahamadou and his comrades have shown to Nigeriens that democracy and freedom are won by the courage and self-sacrifice, the people remains unique sovereign, and the policy needs to give economic performance, corporation and skills. A former member of the current opposition has publicly made this statement: “Issoufou has a strong character and is a technical framework of very high level. Read More...
