African Envoys to recommend their govt. “not to send new students to India”Racist Biasness against Black Africans in India

 

Racism is all over the world. It occurs in one or the other practice in every single turn of the globe. India is no exclusion. 

Though, at the moment India is well-thought-out as one of upcoming economic power in world with innovative and state-of-the-art education technologies and associations fascinating lot of African students in India. Not only students, India also draw the interest of African immigrants to purchase cheap goods to drive back to their respective countries. Somewhere or the other it indicates that Africans are also adding for expansion and are helping in the progress of the Indian economy.

Recurrent attacks on African youths in India, recently, elicited a diplomatic downturn with African diplomats proclaiming that they are likely to recommend to their governments “not to send new students to India” because of “stereotypes and racial prejudice against Africans in India”.

This decision is in harmony with Masunda Kitada Oliver, a Congolese student who was killed last week in Delhi.

“Given the pervading climate of fear and insecurity in Delhi, the African Heads of Mission are left with little option than to consider recommending to their governments not to send new students to India, unless and until their safety can be guaranteed,” a statement from Alem Tsehage Woldemariam, Ambassador of Eritrea and Dean of the group said.

Subsequent to the meeting of the group in the High Commission of Ghana, senior African diplomats met officials at the External Affairs Ministry, and called upon India “to take concrete steps to guarantee the safety and security of Africans”. Read more....
